Frequently Asked Questions
Is everything I say in therapy really confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy matters deeply to us. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist. There are a few rare exceptions, like if there’s a concern about safety or a legal obligation to report—but your therapist will walk you through those clearly. Our goal is to create a safe, trusting space where you can speak freely and feel truly heard.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a gentle introduction. We’ll talk about what brought you in and begin to get a sense of your goals, concerns, and background. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready for, this is your space, and there’s no pressure. Think of it as the first step in building a supportive, collaborative relationship.
What if I’m not sure what I need help with?
That’s more common than you might think and it’s okay. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start. Many people come to therapy with a sense of overwhelm, confusion, or just the feeling that something isn’t quite right. Together, we can explore what’s going on and begin to bring more clarity, understanding, and direction to your experience.
How do I know if my therapist is the right fit?
Finding the right therapist is an important part of your healing journey. You should feel safe, seen, and respected. It might take a few sessions, or sometimes trying someone new, to find that connection, and that’s completely normal. At Mindful Path Healing, we believe that therapy works best when you feel genuinely supported, without judgment.
